Andratx Golf School
In collaboration with the City Council of Andratx and schools throughout the municipality, we initiated a conference aimed at children in 5th and 6th grade of primary school, to introduce our facilities to students; and at the same time, introduce them to the techniques of golf, promoting inclusiveness and sustainability.
In these outings, we emphasize the importance of reusing water from municipal sewage, emphasizing our commitment to the conservation and sustainable use of this fundamental resource.
Golf courses face criticism for their use of water and their perceived economic exclusivity, which has led to various acts of vandalism.
This reflects a lack of understanding that we want to address by promoting sustainable practices and encouraging community participation in an environment of learning and fun.
Our mission is to create a community that is proud to have a golf course in the municipality and to make Andritxoles/as actively participate in the conservation of the course and be aware of their role in the reuse of water.
-
Our goal is to transform this negative and outdated perspective into a more modern and responsible vision.
-
We want to show that golf can be an inclusive activity, an educational resource, a space for recreation, and an inspiring example of how commitment to the environment can be an integral part of any project.
-
Our project aspires to be a beacon of change in the perception of golf courses. These places can be a valuable asset to the community and the natural environment.
-
We want people to see us as a role model in terms of sustainability and accessibility.
-
Golf courses can play a crucial role in the deseasonalization of tourism, attracting sportsmen and women during the low season.
